The last few months has seen some big changes for Instagram. With Stories, Live streaming, and the ability to have a business page, it’s fair to say that they’ve really increased their game by offering even more creativity and style to design a feed and share updated which fit you, your business or personal page.
Let us now introduce you to…Carousel posts! A chance to share up to 10 photos and/or videos within one square. We tried it for ourselves and can confirm, it’s super quick, easy and user-friendly (follow us HERE).
You’ll notice someone has used Carousel indicated by the small blue dots underneath the photo or video. Swipe left and right through and ta-da, a neat little collection of content to showcase an event, new product or chance to tell a mini story.
Instagram say: “When uploading to your feed, you’ll see a new icon to select multiple photos and videos. It’s easy to control exactly how your post will look. You can tap and hold to change the order, apply a filter to everything at once or edit one by one. These posts have a single caption and are square-only for now. On your profile grid, you’ll notice the first photo or video of your post has a little icon, which means there’s more to see.”
If you’ve ever used or noticed an Ad in your feed before, it feels and looks very similar only this time, you can share twice as much content.
For some of our own South Coast Social clients, we’ll be looking at utilising the tool for product launches, open days and a chance to increase engagement by asking followers which they prefer.
