Next up in our Meet the Team series is Rich, another one of the newest faces to join the South Coast Social Team earlier this month!

Read up below about what his first ever gig was, his favourite place to travel is and what he gets up to in his spare time as he settles into life as our new Marketing Manager.

Rich Lown, Marketing Manager

Go to takeaway? It would probably be a Chinese or a Thai. I spent a few months in Thailand a few years back so Thai food always reminds me of my time there and gives me fond memories.
Favourite band/artist? I’m not much of a groupie for anyone but I am a massive Passenger fan. Being a singer songwriter myself, I’m a sucker for a strong melody, relatable lyrics and a unique voice and Passenger, for me, has all three.
Do you have any pets? I have a 16 year old cat called Maz who is my bestie! But unfortunately having moved to Bournemouth from Sussex recently, I had to leave her living with my mum. I miss her!
What was the first gig you went to? My first ever gig was to see a band called The Levellers at the White Rock Theatre in Hastings when I was about 12. I later went on to work there for seven years and perform myself there a number of times.
Three famous people you’d invite to a dinner party? Three very different people but it would have to be John Mayer (so we can write music together), Steven Gerrard (as I’m a big red!) and David Attenborough (as I could just listen to him tell stories all night).
Dream holiday? I’m lucky to have visited a lot of the places I’ve wanted to but I still have two unchecked boxes on my bucket list next to Nashville and New Zealand.
Currently listening to? A brilliant band that I’ve followed for years called ‘NEEDTOBREATHE’ have just released a new album, so i’ve been playing this lots lately!
Favourite pastime? I just love writing music. Whether I’m sitting at the piano or behind a guitar, it’s always been my therapy to write and play music.
If you weren’t a Marketing Manager, what would you be? Probably a slightly obvious one based on my previous answers, but it would definitely be music related. However, I’ve always wanted to own or run a cattery! 😻
