2017 has been an incredible year for South Coast Social, as we continue to expand into one of the south coast’s leading social media agencies.
Director Clare Groombridge takes a look back in her round up of 2017 and shares her plans for next year.
Hello! Thank you for following our journey at South Coast Social – I personally monitor our company social media (especially Facebook and Instagram) and it’s great to see how many of you take inspiration from our social media tips and advice. After all, that’s what we do – helping businesses grow through strategic social media planning and it’s great to hear your success stories!
2017 for us as a business was an exciting period of expansion – we took on new staff to expand our team and widen the skillset we have in-house, alongside collaborating with some incredible partners in web development, graphic design, PPC and video production.
In April we moved into our new office on Holdenhurst Road in Bournemouth – we absolutely love being part of the Bournemouth digital scene and contributing to growing the local economy in this area.
By July, we had already outgrown our new office so when the opportunity came to move across to a bigger office in the same building, we took it! We’re settled in and love being within easy reach of the town centre, the beach – oh, and Starbucks!
We believe that to ensure our clients stay on top of the latest marketing and social media trends, we need to make sure our industry knowledge is always second to none. This year we attended the B2B Marketing Expo, Marketing Week Live, and Technology for Marketing to make sure our team stay up to date.
We also worked with Silicon South and Get Set For Growth to provide strategic social media advice to local start ups and business inititives.
As well as attending various marketing events, we also exhibited in at Marketing Showcase in Cardiff to expand our client base into the Welsh market and in May we exhibited over two days at The Business Show at Excel, London – Europe’s largest Business exhibition for SME’s, Start-Ups and entrepreneurs who are looking to either start or grow their business.
I was also invited to give a seminar at the Business Show on ‘5 Ways To Make Your Social Media Awesome!’
We are proud to have worked with a large variety of sectors as we continued to expand our client base this year.
We’re often asked if we specialise in a particular sector, but although we do have extensive experience in industries as diverse as health and beauty, accountancy and estate agents, the truth is our expertise lies in our content creation skills and the ability to create and adapt a tone of voice relevant to that particular brand, sector and unique audience.
Looking forward to 2018 – we have big plans! We will be soon looking to expand our team again (keep an eye on our Careers Page for more details) and we look forward to several exciting projects launching in the new year including some BIG new clients!
We will be collaborating further with other digital agencies in order to hone the service we provide and although we will also be moving into the London market, we look forward to contributing to the thriving tech scene here in Bournemouth.2017, 2018, Bournemouth, bournemouth digital hub, Clare Groombridge, digital, entrepreneurs, Julias House, Marketing Week Live, round up, SMEs, tech, Technology For Marketing, The Business Show
