Have you caught up on the latest release – the Apple iPhone X? Chances are that your social media channels have been jammed with tweets and posts regarding the new phone along with the pros and cons of what people think.
The new Apple iPhone X model contains a number of new features that previous models have not been accustomed to, including 3D face recognition technology, an OLED display and wireless charging.
There has been much hype and anticipation with the release of the new product which in turn brings controversy along with it. It’s a big leap forward from the original iphone which was announced by Steve Jobs in 2007, with the Apple iPhone X marking the 10-year anniversary of the first ever iPhone.

The cost of the phone will probably have a big impact on whether you purchase the product or not with the top end model costing £1,149 for the 256GB version. You’re paying a premium cost for the face recognition feature instead of the fingerprint sensor which seems to be one of the most discussed feature within the new release. Coming in grey and silver, the phone will be available to pre-order from October 27 and will be shipped on November 3rd with prices starting at £999 in the UK for the smaller 64GB version.
The new look of the Apple iPhone X has an all-glass edge to edge screen – the 5.8-inch super retina screen has a 2436 x 1125 resolution which “fills the hand and dazzles the eyes”. The obvious change in the upgrade is that there’s no iconic button, in the hope that the whole experience of using the phone would be in the screen. Instead of the aluminium casing used in last year’s iPhone 7, the new Apple iPhone X has an all-glass enclosure. Apple also claims that the glass used in the iPhone X is the most durable glass to ever appear in a smartphone.
Your face is now your password, and Apple ensures that the new Face ID feature is secure way to unlock, authenticate and pay. It is enabled by the TrueDepth camera and is simple to set up. “It projects and analyses more than 30,000 invisible dots to create a precise depth map of your face”, mentions Apple.
